There are so many hotels, motels and B&B’s located in the Disney precinct of Anaheim, California that it van be very hard to make a decision on a suitable one.
On our recent trip to the US we stayed at Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel which is located directly opposite Disneyland Park which was the original Walt Disney theme park, the other new park is California Disney adventure.
Even though the hotel was directly across from Disneyland it was still a decent walk (10 minutes) to the main entrance of both parks, this was fine in the morning but was a little far after being dragged around Disneyland for 8 hours. A shuttle bus is available if required.
By far the biggest attraction and highlight of Howard Johnson is Castaway Cove which is a pirate themed water playground with water-slides, water cannons and fantastic drench bucket. There is also a toddlers wading pool. A bigger pool is available in a different area.
There is also a little milk bar (grocery store) which is perfect for picking up Milk, Bottled Water, Snacks etc.
We stayed in a 2 Queen room which was very comfortable and our 2 kids shared a bed. The rooms also had a microwave, fridge and wireless internet which is great for catching up on emails or skyping friends back home.
