The American Museum of Natural History is in an excellent location in the centre of New York bordering central park. The museum is instantly recognisable as the location of the hit Ben Stiller kids movie A Night at the Museum.

Our family visited in September this year and the kids loved digging for fossils at the massive Dinosaur exhibition, they also enjoyed using the interactive touch screen terminals filled with information about the attractions.

Other exhibitions include IMAX Tornado Alley, Journey to the Stars narrated by Whoopi Goldberg and a brand new The Butterfly Conservatory recently opened with over 500 live butterflies.

While visiting we downloaded the official Iphone app which provided us with step by step Directions to all the attractions, and even suggested tours.
